OUR PHILOSOPHY
Simple Dervish was born from a belief that the best travel experiences are the ones that stay with you — not as photographs, but as shifts in perspective. Inspired by the teachings of Sufism and the spiritual heritage of Lefke, we approach every journey as an opportunity for reflection, connection, and discovery.
The name itself comes from the dervish tradition — the wandering seeker, moving through the world with openness and humility. That spirit shapes everything we do: the sites we choose, the pace we keep, the stories we tell along the way.
We believe that Cyprus and Istanbul are among the most layered, spiritually rich places in the world — and that most visitors only ever see the surface. Our tours are designed to go deeper, whether that means standing in a Roman amphitheatre, visiting the maqaam of a companion of the Prophet, or simply watching the sun set over the Mediterranean with no agenda at all.
OUR HOME — LEFKE
Lefke is a small town in North Cyprus, known for its fertile landscape, Ottoman heritage, and deep spiritual significance. It is home to the Naqshbandi Dergah — the maqaam of Mawlana Sheikh Nazim, one of the most revered spiritual figures of the modern era — drawing seekers and visitors from across the world.
It is from here that Simple Dervish operates. The town's history, its spirit, and its community shape everything we do — and form the foundation of every journey we offer.
